Please Note : Yes! Albino Discus are highly sensitive to bright light due to their lack of melanin, which normally protects eyes from harsh lighting. Subdued lighting is essential for their comfort and to highlight their striking red-eye contrast.

Discus Care Guide (Universal)

• Tank Size: 50+ gallons for a group of 5–6.
• Water Parameters:
  • Temperature: 82–86°F (28–30°C)
  • pH: 6.0–7.0 (soft, slightly acidic)
  • Hardness: 1–4 dGH
• Filtration: Canister filter (e.g., Fluval FX4) + weekly 30% water changes.
• Habitat: Planted tanks with driftwood, subdued lighting, and sandy substrate.

• Staple: High-protein pellets (Hikari Discus Bio-Gold).
• Supplemental: Frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, and beef heart mix 2–3x weekly.
• Avoid Overfeeding: Feed small portions 2–3x daily.

• Ideal Tank Mates: Cardinal tetras, Rams, Corydoras.
• Avoid: Aggressive or fast-moving fish (e.g., Tiger Barbs).
